The adventure continues. As we've connected with more and more business owners, we've notice some patterns.

1. Small business owners are typically great at creating the service or product they provide. Woodworkers are great at making beautiful tables, bookkeepers know numbers inside and out, store owners have connections and an eye for finding great products... but most small business owners get overwhelmed when it comes to the business side of business. There is so much that goes into it from accounting to branding to sales and beyond.

2. We also discovered that through LOCAL In My City, we could do a post or and ad that would get thousands of people to a business page but they did not know or understand how to turn those eyes into actual sales. Marketing itself is complex and takes knowledge, practice, strategy and systems to turn a view into profit. Some people get lucky and find a magic formula quickly, but that is not a typical outcome.

3. Small business owners don't have the resources that large corporations have. Large corporations have brand recognition, tax incentives, outside funding, years of experience and much more. Without more resources for small businesses, the charm of our downtowns will turn into more half decent chain burgers, imports from China and poor customer service.

We have worked countless hours and privately funded and expansion of LOCAL that we believe will fill these gaps. Our hope is to start here in our hometown of Clarksville Tennessee and expand past the boarders of our state. Our support goes beyond the simple posts that we are known for to provide simple, effective and affordable resources for small businesses so they can start, grow and thrive.

LOCAL In My City will continue to connect the community with the LOCAL businesses through our directory, Discover Guides and fun events. We will grow the branches of this resource into cities all across America so that no matter where you travel, you can easily find the local places to eat, shop and play. We are currently working to improve the user experience of the app and have lots of great things planned for the future.

The LOCAL CoLAB was just launched in June of 2026. This is a collaborative workspace and small business resource center providing a physical place for small businesses to gather to collaborate, connect and learn. They have the opportunity to teach each other through workshops and participate in networking events. Our goal with this building is to provide a better way to work as a small business owner by surrounding yourself with like-minded people that are cheering for your success. We would love to open more of these resource centers in the future and have more ideas on how we can add to the experience and provide more value as we grow.

LOCAL Business Project has been a part of the vision for many years, though we are just now putting the vision into action. We want to help small business owners dive deeper into the systems, strategy and structure of their business to help them build a strong foundation. LOCAL Business Project services include things like strategy sessions with goal tracking, website and CRM development, brand strategy and much more. We have a huge vision for what this will grow into over the next couple of years and look forward to helping small businesses in a way that we don't see any other company doing.
